RMAC to offer free video streaming from Stretch Internet

RMAC will broadcast games online for free
Ray Dennison Memorial Field will need to look sharp this season, as all of Fort Lewis College’s home football games will be broadcast for free online by the RMAC. Volleyball and men’s and women’s basketball will also get the star treatment.

Pay walls are coming down for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

The conference announced Saturday it will stream online video of games for free through the Stretch Internet service as part of a three-year contract that will run through the 2017-18 season.

Previously, games could be viewed online for a fee.

All home football, volleyball and basketball – men’s and women’s – games will be shown, and schools can select other sports’ home games, as well.

“Stretch is a leader in collegiate live streaming, and we’re excited about the partnership,” RMAC Commissioner Chris Graham said in a news release. “It will provide us an enhanced platform to further display our student-athletes’ athletic achievements. We’re particularly excited to present our fans a chance to watch all RMAC games for free for the first time.”

Stretch formed in 2003 and has since expanded to provide services to more than 500 schools and non-sports enterprises.

“We’re thrilled to begin a partnership with the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference,” said Ben Gabrielson, Director of Business Development at Stretch, in a news release. “We’ve built a platform that’s designed specifically for the needs of conferences across the collegiate landscape. The conference, the member institutions and their fans are going to enjoy a rich game-day experience that’s unlike any other at this level.”

Fort Lewis College’s first guaranteed streaming game of the season will be Sept. 12 when the Skyhawks’ football team will open its home slate against Oklahoma Panhandle State.

The Marriott Hotel in Colorado Springs will host the RMAC Kickoff on Monday, and FLC head coach John L. Smith, quarterback Jordan Doyle and linebacker Ryan Ross will be on the podium first at 9:10 a.m.
