Film festival goes to the dogs

In a community that loves both films and dogs, the Bow Wow Film Tour may be the hottest ticket in town.

The festival, which features a collection of short films that animal-rescue groups use for fundraising, will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Durango Arts Center, 802 East Second Ave.

“Films are family-friendly and come from all over the country,” said film tour spokewoman Susan Kelly.

The screening is being held in collaboration with the La Plata Humane Society.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door, with kids 12 and younger costing $7. They are available at the La Plata County Humane Society, 1111 South Camino del Rio and at www.bowwowfilmfest.com.
