Birdies the only prize for our local club pros

Forget the selfies, they are passé, so keep your eye on the birdie.

Or should I say birdies, as the fourth annual Birdie Fest, to benefit Adaptive Sports Association, will be held on the Glacier Club course Aug. 31. The Glacier Club, Hillcrest Golf Club and Dalton Ranch Golf Club will be sending a combination of their club pros and top players to compete in a friendly gathering to see which club amasses the most birdies over the course of 54 spectacular holes on the Glacier Club layout.

Teams will compete in a modified scramble format where community members pledge a flat rate or per birdie pledge toward their favorite team.

Last years winner, Glacier Club, narrowly edged the other two teams by just a couple of birdies. The winners have displayed the traveling trophy, an original water color painting by local artist Susan Tait, for the past year.

To pledge to this extraordinarily worthwhile cause, contact your local club pro or Adaptive Sports at 259-0374.

We are moving into the home stretch on our area courses as the majority of the summer traffic has moved on, which means tee times are more accessible and prime times are up for grabs. So keep working on your game and bring a friend to make the journey that much more fun.
