I recently went to a volunteer orientation given by Stacye, the volunteer coordinator at the La Plata County Humane Society. I hadn’t volunteered there for a couple of years and was impressed (as I always had been!) by the policies and organization of the shelter.

The orientation was wonderful. Everything is geared toward the care and well-being of the animals.

I also volunteer at a shelter in Maryland. I’m going to take back some of LPCHS’s well thought-out ideas to this other shelter. Thanks to Stacye and LPCHS for all the hard work and for caring so much for animals in need.
