Local bounty hunters to be on Animal Planet

Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters Dayson Goetz and Clint Simmons are followed by cameramen as they filmed the show in Cortez in October. The house turned out to be an incorrect address.

Animal Planet’s series “Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters” will return Sunday for a second season, and many local viewers might recognize the scenery.

The series filmed on location in Durango and Cortez will feature local bounty hunting team Clint Simmons and Dayson Goetz.

If you didn’t know this area had bounty hunters, Sunday will give you a chance to learn more.

Both men were raised on Colorado cattle ranches. After working together on several assignments, the men decided to work together full-time catching criminals.

Simmons runs his family’s ranch and works as a carpenter when he’s not handling the business aspect of bounty hunting. Goetz works as a firefighter and EMT, which likely keeps him fit when he’s chasing after wanted men.

This season, the region’s most-wanted offenders – who have a history of charges ranging from arson to drug trafficking to assault – will do whatever it takes to escape custody by fleeing into more than 3,000 miles of dense forests and rocky peaks, according to a Discovery news release.

The show also will feature a bounty-hunting team from Montana.
