Coloradans are a happy group, at least according to a WalletHub study.
The Rocky Mountain state ranked fourth in the nation after the website compared all 50 states and the District of Columbia on 25 metrics in three areas: emotional and physical well-being, including adequate sleep, depression rates and sports participation; work environment, including commute time, income level and job security; and community, environment and recreational activities, including volunteerism rate, weather, number of attractions and safety ranking.
We have some work to do, so to speak, on the work-environment ranking. Coming in 18th dragged down our score.
Utah came in at the top of the list, followed by Minnesota and Hawaii. Rounding out the Top 10 after Colorado are North Dakota, Nebraska, Washington, Iowa, Massachusetts and Wyoming.
If you prefer to be miserable, try living in the bottom five – Tennessee, Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama and, in dead last, West Virginia.
