School garden comes to harvest

Weighted down by a bountiful harvest, Animas Valley Elementary School fifth-grader Gabriel Goens carries bins full of fresh produce grown in the school’s garden to a table to sell to arriving parents on Tuesday. This is the last week of the fifth-grade’s farmers market, where they sell squash, potatoes, carrots, zucchini, lettuce, green beans and even edible flowers grown in the school’s garden.
