Steamworks Brewing Co. to close Nov. 9 for one-week remodel

New lighting fixtures and restrooms part of renovation
People sit in Steamworks Brewing Company on a Saturday evening in May 2014.

Steamworks Brewing Company will close Nov. 9 for at least a week to begin a remodeling project at its location at 801 E. Second Ave.

Steamworks co-founder Kris Oyler said he expects the brewery and restaurant to reopen by Nov. 15, but given the possibility of construction delays, it may take a little longer.

“We will definitely be fully operational by Nov. 21 when Purgatory opens for the season,” Oyler said in a news release.

As part of this remodeling phase, all lighting fixtures and ceiling fans will be replaced, and the restrooms will be completely renovated.

Also, the floor behind the bar will be refinished.

In February and April, Steamworks founders are planning additional improvements to the building, which include constructing a new prep kitchen area, new window installations, a reorganization of the main floor kitchen and a complete overhaul of the entry way.
