Thanksgiving service to be held Thursday
The First Church of Christ Scientist, Durango, 1166 East Third Ave., will host a Thanksgiving service for the community from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
Child care will be provided. All are welcome.
S. Ute Museum closed for holiday
The Southern Ute Cultural Center and Museum, 503 Ouray Drive, Ignacio, will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday beginning at noon Wednesday and will resume normal business hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
Zumba master class to be held Friday
Gobble Down & Get Down: Post-Thanksgiving Zumba Master Class will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at the St. Columba School gym, 1801 East Third Ave.
Three Zumba instructors will lead one hour of Zumba (dance-fitness), followed by one hour of Zumba Toning (dance-fitness with light weights), and a mini-demo of PiYo (Pilates/yoga fusion). This will be a challenging class for adults and kids older than 12, with modifications for all levels of fitness.
To help St. Columba School’s holiday food/gift drives, participants are asked to bring two cans of food to donate and lift as weights for the Zumba Toning portion of the class. Another optional donation is an unwrapped gift for an elderly resident of Four Corners Nursing Home.

Senior Center to host several programs
The Durango/La Plata Senior Center, 2424 Main Ave., will host these programs:
A Craft Bazaar will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 5. People interested in having a booth to sell handmade items should call 382-6428. The cost for a booth is $25.
“Technology 101” will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 8. This class will look at tablet and smartphone technology; wireless Internet basics; streaming video content; Internet competency; uses of digital photos; Skype/Facebook; and more. The cost is $15. The instructor will be Jon Cordalis, “The Computer Tutor.”
“iPad Tips & Tricks” will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Dec. 10. This class will review basic operations and explore tips and tricks to help people get the most from their iPad. People should come to the class with an understanding of the basic operations. Participants should bring their device to class and know their Apple ID and password. This is an iPad- and iPhone-specific class. The cost is $15. The instructor will be Jon Cordalis, “The Computer Tutor.”

A Community Craft Bazaar will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Breen Community Building, 15300 Colorado Highway 140.
