‘Tis the season for gratitude and giving, and the Salvation Army needs to enlist members of the community to help it help our neighbors experiencing emergencies.
Two-hour bell-ringing slots are available at both City Markets and Walmart.
“Donations stay in La Plata County,” Salvation Army President Judy Duke said.
“We never give cash to anyone, so this is a good alternative to helping panhandlers. We are very careful and keep a database of our recipients.”
