A workshop on how to slow erosion and control weeds is scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Florida Mesa Elementary School, 216 Highway 172.
Representatives of the Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Colorado State University Cooperative Extension will lead the discussion.
Drought conditions over the past several years that brought questions about soil loss and blowing dust led to the workshop, said Darrin Parmenter, with the Extension.
Among issues to be discussed are proper grazing techniques, weed control options, weed mitigation grants and NRCS incentives to improve environmental conditions.
