I read with interest the Dec. 29 Herald story about the fact that more voters in Durango are not affiliated with any political party. Now is your golden opportunity. Since we have so many candidates running for office, find out how each person feels on key issues. For example, why not compare Hillary Clinton to Carly Fiorina – both are women so how do they compare? Or what do each of the candidates plan to do about the looming debt (which doesn’t seem to be discussed in the media)? Rand Paul has some interesting things to say, why don’t we hear about that? We have heard plenty about Trump and Hillary. Frankly, I feel that we have already had an arrogant president. Many are frustrated and want a real change, but is the socialism of Bernie Sanders the answer?

Before the candidates are chosen, now is the time to find out what each candidate will do about key issues.
