A La Plata County woman accused of criminally impersonating a peace officer and using a taser on her sister-in-law is being held on $5,000 bond.

Taylorcree George, 23, was taken into custody by La Plata County Sheriff’s Office deputies late Thursday.

Deputies received a call, possibly from a neighbor, about a disturbance just before 10 p.m. Thursday at a residence on County Road 221 in the Southwest Horizon Ranch area.

George, who was intoxicated when deputies arrived, told authorities she approached her 20-year-old sister-in-law, Autum Hall, and shined a flashlight in Hall’s face so she couldn’t see George, according to Sheriff’s Office spokesman Dan Bender. He said George allegedly used a stun gun against Hall.

“George identified herself (to Hall) as a police officer, and at some point in time, they engaged in a mutual fistfight during which George said she fell on the ground and hit her head,” Bender said. “Hall was able to get away from George and was picked up by relatives and taken out of the area.”

George was treated for a half-inch cut on her head before she was taken to jail.

The dispute took place outside the residence, where it is believed Hall stays from time to time, Bender said.

George later alleged she was attacked by Hall with a knife, but witnesses denied seeing a knife, and authorities did not recover one at the scene.

Eyewitnesses said George and Hall “don’t like each other,” and George initiated the fight, Bender said.
