Vote Republicans out of office

I certainly hope everyone has been paying attention to the Republican debates, where the party has chosen to support two of the most disgusting humans to ever walk the planet as their front runners for president.

Every time Trump opens his mouth, nothing but garbage comes out. He has no realistic plans; he’s despised by 70 percent of the public; and has no desire to actually win. Fact-checkers are having a hard time finding anything he says that’s truthful.

Cruz is no better: a compulsive liar who gets wrapped up in squabbles about wives and National Enquirer articles during a presidential campaign. He also has no realistic plans, just stupid ideas to further destroy the government, the environment, our educational system, health care, any climate change-related activities and the IRS, but support “religious freedoms” that try to legalize discrimination against others, and of course, more wars.

These guys are dangerous, and the entire world is appalled by both of them. While Republicans continue to claim they are for freedom and the Constitution, they are hard at work denying basic civil rights to the LGBT community in several southern states, when the Constitution clearly prohibits discrimination. Despite wanting to go to war against several nations where religious beliefs trump or define the laws of the land, Republicans continue to pass legislation based on religious beliefs that deny rights to those with different beliefs, all in the name of religious freedom. If you like that kind of thing, move to Iran where it’s legal. It’s not here, and hopefully, North Carolina, Mississippi and Georgia will continue to pay the price as corporations, entertainers and citizens boycott their repulsive actions.

On the local front, it was heartening to learn that Rep. J Paul Brown finally admitted he wouldn’t be in business if it weren’t for huge federal government subsidies from far-below-fair-market value grazing leases on public lands. This makes him the county’s biggest hypocrite and possibly its largest welfare recipient, but still the Republicans’ go-to guy. Vote Republicans out!
