Fort Lewis College women get on the board, finish 12th at RMAC Track and Field Championships

Webb, relay team break FLC records

It wasn’t the best weekend for Fort Lewis College women’s track and field, but the Skyhawks left the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships on a positive note after Sunday’s performance.

Fort Lewis finished 12 out of 13 teams, but the Skyhawks fought out of last place on Sunday as they posted all 12 of the team’s points on the event’s final day.

Skylyn Webb’s new school record time of 2 minutes, 12.18 seconds in the 800 meter run wasn’t just the best in school history, but an NCAA provisionally qualifying time as well. Webb finished second and won eight points for FLC in the event while earning All-RMAC First Team honors for her efforts.

The 4x100 meter relay team added the team’s other four points with a fourth-place finish. Quinlyn Borneo, Sydni Brandon, Bridgett Gantt and Jazmyne Reining finished in 48.71, which was good for another Fort Lewis College record.

The Skyhawks’ 4x400 relay team of Borneo, Payton Kee, Webb and Carly Wilborn finished 10th in the first race they ran as a unit this season with a time of 4:05.03.

Madison Obernesser (20:43.72) and Chloe Boehlke (21:07.98) took 33rd and 34th place, respectively, in the 5000 meter run.

Chadron State College won the women’s championship with 172 points with Black Hills State (103) coming in second and Adams State (101) finishing third.
