Monday, honor those who gave their lives

For one hour on Memorial Day leave your spring cleaning, spring planting, discount shopping, picnic fixings, baseball mitt, suntan lotion, bicycle races, vintage autos, dog walking, visiting relatives, golf clubs, car washing or lawn mower. They’ll still be there when you get back.

Those we honor on this day will not be back. Whether you agree or disagree with a war, military action or political decision, these are our men and women who fought wars for us. Real men and women from the beginning of our nation to our current world situations have given their lives, limb and sanity.

Honor them. Meet at 10 a.m. Monday at the Vietnam Memorial located behind the fire station off Camino del Rio.
