Tuesday is deadline to change party affiliation for the June 28 primary

Voters can notify by mail or in person
If voters want to change their party affiliation ahead of the June 28 primary in Colorado, they must do so by Tuesday. This can be done in person at the La Plata County Clerk and Recorder’s Office in Bodo Industrial Park, located at 98 Everett St., Suite C, in Durango, or online at <a href="http://www.govotecolorado.com">www.govotecolorado.com.</a>

Tuesday is the last day for La Plata County voters who are affiliated with a party to change their affiliation for the June 28 Colorado primary.

This can be done in person at the La Plata County Clerk and Recorder’s Office in Bodo Industrial Park at 98 Everett St., Suite C in Durango, or online at www.govotecolorado.com.

Affiliated voters will automatically receive a ballot by mail in early June. Those who are not affiliated have until June 20 to affiliate with a party if they wish to vote in the primary.

Voters will be able to cast their ballots in person June 20-28 at the clerk and recorder’s office, Bayfield Town Hall at 1199 Bayfield Parkway and at the La Plata County Fairgrounds at 2500 Main Ave.

Ballots may also be dropped off at the Everett Street and Bayfield locations, at Ignacio Town Hall at 540 Goddard Ave., and the county administration building at 1101 East Second Ave. in Durango.

Mail-in ballots should be mailed no later than June 21, as they must be received by 7 p.m. June 28.

Voters can update their addresses and register to vote at www.govotecolorado.com or at the clerk and recorder offices in Bodo Industrial Park or Bayfield.

Primary races will include 6th Judicial District Attorney, La Plata County commissioner districts 2 and 3, county surveyor, U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, University of Colorado Regent and Colorado House District 59.

Presidential candidates are not on the primary ballots.
