Concerts @ the Park series kicks off

Free shows offered through summer
Crested Butte-based band Doctor Robert will be the Concerts @ the Park series opener Thursday at Buckley Park.

Alpine Bank of Durango and the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College have once again teamed up to present the Concerts @ The Park summer series, which will feature a diverse roster of bands that will perform on Thursdays, June 16 through July 28.

Kicking off the series Thursday will be Beatles tribute band Doctor Robert, based in Crested Butte.

Back by popular demand, Doctor Robert – named for the Beatles song of the same name on “Revolver,” rotates through the iconic band’s catalog, so no two shows are the same. They’re known for bringing a modern take on the Beatles’ classics.

If you go

The Alpine Bank-Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College’s Concerts @ the Park series will kick off from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Buckley Park, between 12th and 13th streets in Durango.

Bring your own chairs and blankets to this family-friendly event. Food by Fired Up Pizzeria and Schlotzsky’s will be available for purchase, but picnics are OK, too. Admission is free.
