One person airlifted from Highway 140 crash

Incident closes road for about four hours

The Colorado State Patrol assisted the Southern Ute Police Department with an injury crash Wednesday morning on Colorado Highway 140, about eight miles north of the New Mexico border.

At least one person was airlifted to an area hospital, said Trooper Josh Lewis with the Colorado State Patrol in Denver.

The crash occurred near County Road 100 west of Marvel. The road was closed from 10:25 a.m. until 2:20 p.m., he said.

Lewis did not provide further information, saying the case was being handled by the Southern Ute Police Department.

Efforts to reach the SUPD for further comment were unsuccessful on Wednesday.
