Celebrate the end of summer with DNS

Durango Nature Studies holding annual music festival
Running Out of Road will be playing at Summer’s End Music Festival, a benefit for Durango Nature Studies.

With local students heading back to class, it’s time to start warming up to the idea that summer’s on its way out.

And what better way to say goodbye than with live music?

Durango Nature Studies will be throwing its seventh annual Summer’s End Music Festival on Friday night at Rotary Park in Durango, so grab a blanket and the family and head over.

The annual bluegrass festival, which is a fundraiser for DNS, will feature music by The Assortment, PG Band and Running Out of Road.

The Assortment will take the stage first, at 5:30. Then it’s the PG Band at 6:40, followed by Running Out of Road at 7:50.

Food will also be available: You can buy beer, root beer and brats.

According to the DNS website, Durango Nature Studies is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1994 to providing nature, science a environmental education to the students and communities of the Four Corners.

The music festival is sponsored by: Alpine Bank, Sunnyside Meats, Carver’s Brewing, The Wells Group, Outdoor Exchange, Eolus Restaurant, Katzin Music, KSUT and Serious Texas Bar-B-Q.
