A semitrailer knocked down a small traffic light at 32nd Street and Main Avenue shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday.
“We had a semitruck that did not negotiate that turn correctly,” said Lisa Schwantes, spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Transportation. The pole did not fall into traffic, she said.
The incident backed up traffic for a short time, but the overhead traffic lights were not affected and so traffic was flowing normally before 5 p.m.
Crews and heavy equipment worked to fix the light before nightfall, but they did not expect to disrupt traffic, Schwantes said.
The driver of the truck has been ticketed, she said.
