City water may be cloudy because of hydrant flushing

City work crews were flushing fire hydrants along Goeglein Gulch Road, which may stir up sediment in water lines in the area.

The city of Durango flushed fire hydrants Friday afternoon along Goeglein Gulch Road, which may have stirred up sediment in water lines in the area.

Specific areas that may have been affected include along Goeglein Gulch Road, the Central Business District and Bodo Park.

Sensitive water users (medical facilities, restaurants, breweries, ice factories, etc.) were advised to verify the suitability of their water before using it, and to check the water during its use. The water may have looked cloudy.

Customers who experience cloudy water are advised to run water through their faucet for 15 to 20 minutes to clear any residual cloudiness.

If the water remains cloudy or for any questions, customers should call the Utilities Department at 375-4801.
