Archaeology lecture to address colonization of San Juan region

The Hisatsinom Chapter of the Colorado Archaeology Society will feature a talk by Shanna Diederichs on frontier colonization of the San Juan region during the Basketmaker III period at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Methodist Church, 515 Park St., Cortez.

Diederichs’ presentation is called “A Frontier in Bloom: Social Implications of Architectural Diversity and Conformity during the Colonization of the San Juan Region of the Northern Southwest.”
