Prep Roundup: Durango, Ignacio volleyball teams see different results

IHS falls to No. 8 team

The Durango High School volleyball team won its second match of the week Saturday.

A few days after playing all eight seniors in a five set win against Montezuma-Cortez, the Demons beat Grand Junction in four sets 25-12, 25-23, 16-25, 25-19.

Lana Razma led Durango with 22 digs and nine kills and Brianna Brown had 31 assists.

“We came out really strong in Game 1 and 2,” Durango head coach Colleen Vogt said. “I was pleased with how we played. It was the best overall game we had this season.”

Josie Surmeier had seven kills for the Demons, while Faith Dowling and Ally Snow had six. Razma also racked up six aces in the win.

Durango will go to Bayfield for the Wolverines’ senior night at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Ridgway 3, Ignacio 0

The Bobcats lost a tough match to No. 8 Ridgway on senior day to end its season.

Ignacio (7-12, 6-7 District 3) was beat in three sets, 25-16, 25-15 and 25-16.
