The new drawing will take place at 1:30 p.m. every day, in addition to the 7:30 p.m. daily draw, which started in 2013.
Players must buy two separate tickets to enter both the daytime and evening drawings.
“We’re just trying something new. We did have feedback from players – they wanted a midday draw of some kind,” said Kelly Tabor, lottery spokeswoman. “It’s really popular on the East Coast, and we thought we’d bring it to Colorado and see how people like it. The Colorado Lottery doesn’t have a jackpot game that draws in the middle of the day.”
Pick 3 players choose three numbers, zero through nine, and place bets on which numbers will be drawn and in what order. Players who bet the maximum $5 can win up to $2,500.
