Colorado wine sells for $100 a bottle

While Colorado may be new to the winemaking arena, it didn’t take long for it to reach California prices for its product.

Canyon Wind Cellars of Palisade is rolling out the first $100 bottle in the state for its 2007 Bordeaux-style blend, called simply IV for the four different grapes it contains. Those are petit verdot, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon and merlot.

Farmers Market now open Saturdays

The Durango Farmer’s Market opens for the year Saturday morning in its usual spot, the parking lot of First National Bank, 259 West Ninth St.

You can expect eggs, kale and spinach from Judy and Heidi Rowher of Rowher’s Farm; greens and carrots from Chuck Barry of Stone Creek Farm rhubarb and some aromatic basil from Michael and Diane Schwebach at Cedar Hill Farms.
