Health Briefs
- The Upper San Juan Health Service District has received a three-year, $1.7 million Health Care Innovation award from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
- The award, made possible by the Affordable Care Act, will be used to create a tele-health emergency response and care program designed to improve cardiac and stroke care at Pagosa Springs Medical Center.
- The new program will train about 25 paramedics and tele-health clinicians.
