What do you remember from 2011?
Our story about Sydney Spies and the Durango High School yearbook editor’s decision to not run her yearbook photo has gone viral, gathering international and national attention.
The Durango Herald Small Press has come out with its’ first recipe book: Delightfully Durango.
The book features recipes from local restaurants and 25 percent of the proceeds goes to The Women’s Resource Center in Durango.
It’s almost New Years and we’re putting together our end of the year story, but we need your input. What local stories stick out in your mind from the past year and why?

A week ago I dined at Paula Deen’s restaurant in Savannah, Georgia. That’s what I call Lady and Sons, arguably Savannah’s best-known culinary landmark. The last time I went to Savannah, I saw the brunch line wind its way around the corner for two city blocks, so this time I made a reservation well in advance.
As I write this blog at about 25,000 feet on a flight from Denver to Washington, I am struck once again by how food indeed is the cement during the rough patches of the holiday season. Food talk certainly is a safer topic than politics, sex, religion and, in this instance, profiling.
