Durango Food Bank to hold collection drive
The Durango Food Bank will hold a food drive from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

Participants can drop off donations at north and south City Markets, Albertsons, Nature's Oasis and Wal-Mart.

Archaeological Society to meet Thursday
The San Juan Basin Archaeological Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College. Sally Cole will present a program about the Falls Creek Ranch Project. The public is invited.

Hermosa work group to meet Tuesday
The Hermosa Creek Workgroup will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave. Everyone is welcome. The meeting will focus on discussing the recommendations from a drafting committee that formed in May.

Surface-use agreement clarification available
The San Juan Citizens Alliance has posted a sample surface-use agreement on its Web site, accompanied by analysis and comments on sections it believes surface owners should be particularly aware of.

A surface-use agreement is one that gas operators make with surface owners before beginning drilling operations on the subject property.
