Talk about town

Serious Texas Bar-B-Q got some serious national TV exposure Friday.

Dan Howell, a partner in the Durango restaurant, cooked up a signature pulled pork sandwich with cherry chipotle salsa and barbecue sauce on ABC's "Live! with Regis and Kelly."

Howell said the two Durango restaurants, along with a Loveland location, smoke 250,000 pounds of pork each year. "Little old Durango - a lot of hungry people there," Howell said during the broadcast.

Co-host Kelly Ripa pronounced the barbecuing "oddly sexy" - this after Howell bussed the blonde on the cheek. Ripa later praised the food, saying: "This is the best thing I've ever eaten."

Guest host Jeff Varner stood in for TV legend Regis Philbin during the "Ultimate Hometown Grill-off."

Fans can vote Friday on an online poll on the show's Web site to send Howell to a final face-off in the competition.
