Animal Control

Wednesday

5:03 p.m. A horse damaged a man’s property in the lower 100 block of County Road 218, south of Farmington Hill.

Durango Police

Thursday

12:38 a.m. A drunken man was beating his dog near College Drive and Main Avenue.

2:50 a.m. A man with black clothing and a baseball cap was trying to break into a vehicle in the 1400 block of Main Avenue.

11:47 a.m. A drunken woman needed to be taken to Detox, according to a report in the 3100 block of East Animas Village Drive.

Wednesday

4:26 p.m. Protesters were hanging signs on the Buckley Park memorial stone, near 12th Street and Main Avenue.

4:50 p.m. A woman was driving in the wrong lane at Main Avenue and 32nd Street.

5:04 p.m. People were messing with a car on display in the Durango Mall, 800 South Camino del Rio.

6:06 p.m. Someone changed clothes in a restroom and left behind a pair of pants and a sweatshirt in the west 200 block of Eighth Street.

7:57 p.m. A video camera was stolen at Durango High School, 2390 Main Ave.

8:24 p.m. Neighbors were having a very large bonfire in a backyard in the 2500 block of Columbine Drive. The fire was out when an officer arrived. They were warned.

La Plata County Sheriff

Thursday

3:20 a.m. Someone in a white Ford Ranger was driving up and down the street spinning its tires for a half hour in the 100 block of County Road 133A, near Marvel.

Wednesday

4:35 p.m. A mother and son were arguing, and the son threw something at his mother, and it hit her in the 200 block of East Pioneer Drive, between Elmore’s Corner and Gem Village, north of U.S. Highway 160.

Bayfield Marshal

Thursday

1:45 p.m. A speed limit sign needed to be better posted near Bayfield High School, because drivers couldn’t tell when it was OK to drive at 45 mph, someone reported.

Fort Lewis College

Wednesday

10:58 p.m. A loud party with alcohol was a problem at the Mears Apartments.
