Durango resident Cameron Mark Smith died here Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009. He was 30. The cause of death is under investigation.

Mr. Smith was born to Mark Smith and Lisa Webb Rogers in Provo, Utah, on May 14, 1979. He attended Farmington High School and later attended and graduated from Walkersville High School in Walkersville, Md., in 1997.

He enjoyed listening to music, spending time with his dog, Onika, traveling, swimming and diving. Mr. Smith was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Mr. Smith is survived by his parents Mark and Cathy Smith of Frederick, Md., and Randy and Lisa Rogers of Farmington; sister Keely Farley of Farmington; brothers Adam Rogers of Red Mesa, Aaron Rogers, Alexander Rogers and Landon Rogers, all of Farmington, Andrew Rogers of Greeley, Colby Smith of Provo, Allen Rogers of Okinawa, Japan, Elder Austin Rogers serving a mission in Philadelphia, Collin Smith of Huntersville, N.C., and Patrick Baseler, Walter Baseler, Gregory Baseler and Michael Baseler, all of Frederick; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Oct. 13, 2009, at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute St. in Farmington.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Farmington 5th Ward Chapel at 4400 College Blvd. Bishop Mike Lacey will officiate. Burial will take place afterward at Greenlawn Cemetery in Farmington.
