Gazpacho Restaurant held its annual Cinco de Mayo Fiesta on Saturday, with proceeds going to support the Ballet Folklorico de Durango program and Fort Lewis College’s El Centro de Muchos Colores. Seven-year-old Alondra Cruz-Mendoza, daughter of Carlos Cruz and Jeamileth Mendoza, takes a swing at a piñata brought over from Guadalajara especially for the occasion, courtesy of Chiquita’s Tiendita. Shop owner Vicente Garcia said a family friend made it “duro” to better withstand the beating of a dozen or so kids.
Four-year-old Boedy Imming, son of Dan and Christine Imming, was one of numerous kids taking a swing at the piñata Saturday afternoon during Gazpacho’s annual Cinco de Mayo Fiesta.
