I wanted to express my disappointment in one particular element of your editorial on the Colorado Independent Ethics Commission (Herald, March 13). You quoted the mission statements of both Colorado Ethics Watch and Compass Colorado, but I feel you were not balanced when you tagged Ethics Watch as “liberal-leaning” without placing a similar tag on Compass Colorado. This is especially interesting as Ethics Watch is a 501(c)3 while Compass Colorado is a 501(c)4 that will likely be running ads to influence the November elections. I hope you will consider this the next time you write about two different organizations in the same editorial.
