Vote ‘no’ on county mill levy increase

Vote “no” on Question 1A, the mill levy tax increase. We taxpayers pay our county commissioner employees $72,500 per year, while the average county household income is $72,066 according to the government. Let them earn their high wages by finding a solution acceptable to all county residents, instead of just those who choose not to own property.

Commissioners somehow excluded a sales tax increase, which would get everyone involved, a snappy idea since everyone uses roads and bridges. They also excluded no tax increase, i.e. take the money from some of the many useless tax-waster programs.

The reasoning that commissioners have used to omit a sales tax increase is pure bull. What really happens is government can’t hope to pass a sales tax increase because every resident would have to vote to increase their tax bite. Instead, those who choose not to pay mill levies unfairly get to vote a tax increase on those who must.

Instead, the government wishes to single out one group to pave the way for everyone. All other special interest groups get to suck at the public trough, using these facilities without paying for them.

Vote “no” on a mill levy tax increase! Vote “no” on 1A!
