Wedding expo to be held Saturday

Florists, venues, caterers and more will show their work

Whether a wedding date is two weeks away or two years in the future, the Two Hearts Wedding Expo brings together dozens of local exhibitors under one roof.

Floral Expressions of Bayfield and Bayberry Market are vendors at this year’s expo, which takes place in Durango from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at La Plata County Fairgrounds.

Hiedi Lewis, owner of Floral Expressions in Bayfield, loves to create special pieces for couples.

While staffing an expo can be a challenge since she operates a small shop, Lewis said she’s looking forward to the expo so she can meet people planning to marry and show the variety of pieces she can create.

“Attendees can save time by seeing everything that you will need for your wedding under one roof,” organizers said. Discounts and offers are available for show attendees.

Organizers also recommend couples come prepared to make decisions.

“Everything at the show will be bookable and buyable,” states the wedding expo’s website.

“Couples with very popular wedding dates, such as those in June or December, will need to make quick decisions and commitments in order to secure their chosen wedding reception site, caterer or photographer. Many couples make initial deposits or sign confirmed contracts to secure their top choices at this event. If you are not prepared to make a deposit, at least plan to make an appointment at the show to meet with your favorite vendors.”

Top vendors at th expo often find a year’s worth of business booked at the show or within six weeks of the show.

The event is organized by Four Corners Expos, a division of Ballantine Communications Inc.

It will include fashions music, tastings, venues, and prizes for attendees.
