Derek Ems, with Duranglers on Main Avenue, spent his lunch hour Monday immersed in his work, knee-deep in the cool waters of the Animas River at the Ninth Street Bridge seeking fish under partly cloudy skies. The National Weather Service predicts highs in the low 50s until Friday, when temperatures dip and a chance of snow moves into the area.
