{"id":29062,"date":"2024-02-21T00:31:55","date_gmt":"2024-02-21T07:31:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.durangoherald.com\/tj\/farmington-man-gets-into-waste-management-truck\/"},"modified":"2026-03-31T00:48:14","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T06:48:14","slug":"farmington-man-gets-into-waste-management-truck","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.durangoherald.com\/tj\/farmington-man-gets-into-waste-management-truck\/","title":{"rendered":"Farmington man gets into Waste Management truck"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com\/?uuid=53980d31-cffe-5689-b029-1a41dfbadd9c&amp;function=cover&amp;type=preview&amp;source=false&amp;width=2000\" width=\"640\" height=\"438\" alt=\"Isaiah Paytiamo\" class=\"naviga-image\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption><span class=\"caption\">Isaiah Paytiamo<\/span><span class=\"credit\">cca<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>A Farmington man intent on showing off for his girlfriend reportedly broke into a Waste Management truck and stole an employee\u2019s jacket.<\/p>\n<p>Isaiah Paytiamo, 26, of Farmington, was found at 1:15 p.m. Feb. 15 by Farmington Police in a Waste Management Truck in the 2500 block of East 20th Street, and he reportedly was refusing to leave.<\/p>\n<p>The truck\u2019s driver, Anthony Montoya, told police that Paytiamo \u201centered the truck from the passenger side\u201d and his \u201cspeech was slurred and he tossed various items around in the truck as he entered,\u201d according to the statement of probable cause.<\/p>\n<p>Montoya reportedly told Paytiamo that he couldn\u2019t be in the truck, before taking the keys and getting out, leaving Paytiamo inside of it.<\/p>\n<p>When police arrived on scene, Paytiamo reportedly exited the truck and ran into the Hutton Plaza Self Storage area, where he was hiding from officers. After a search, they located him, and he said \u201che was going to climb over the fence, but did not want to be arrested or wanted any confrontation with police,\u201d the probable cause statement states.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of climbing the fence, Paytiamo reportedly removed the Waste Management jacket with the company\u2019s logo and gave it to police.
