{"id":31111,"date":"2023-10-17T23:54:31","date_gmt":"2023-10-18T05:54:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.durangoherald.com\/tj\/911-system-goes-down-in-san-juan-county-new-mexico\/"},"modified":"2026-03-31T01:34:22","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T07:34:22","slug":"911-system-goes-down-in-san-juan-county-new-mexico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.durangoherald.com\/tj\/911-system-goes-down-in-san-juan-county-new-mexico\/","title":{"rendered":"911 system goes down in San Juan County, New Mexico"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image naviga-align-left alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com\/?uuid=a68b31fd-12e4-555c-b1e8-e0700cceacd7&amp;function=cover&amp;type=preview&amp;source=false&amp;width=2000\" width=\"466\" height=\"492\" alt=\"San Juan County Communications Authority\" class=\"naviga-image\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption><span class=\"caption\">San Juan County Communications Authority<\/span><span class=\"credit\">cca<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>The San Juan County Communications Authority began experiencing phone line problems with its 911 emergency line about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and had calls rerouted to McKinley County.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t know what happened,\u201d said Nicole Brown, director of the San Juan County Communications Authority, which operates the 911 system in the county.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are working to isolate the problem,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The issue started with cellphone calls not going through, and then, an hour later, Brown said it appeared the problem was with all types of phone calls coming into the center.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a technician on site actively working on the problem,\u201d Brown said, adding all San Juan County residents are being advised to call nonemergency dispatch, if they have an emergency.
