Whatever happened to love?
Not the physical kind, but the free-flowing kind, available for everyone and given without fear or qualification.
Is the spirit of the 1960s really dead? Whatever happened to all of us caring about each other? These days, it’s all about media, greed, anger and cynicism, and I find this trap we are falling into alarming, sad and very upsetting.
I am the luckiest guy in the world, married to an amazing and wonderful woman and surrounded with a complement of great friends. Most of my friends are women and we laugh, share our adventures and love each other as reliable good friends should.
So, I’m appealing to good sense while peace and love between all people are still within reach. Don’t let cynics and people of bad intent paint the entire canvas, and embrace the fact that the vast majority of us are good and honest people. Don’t be afraid to share and express your love, even to strangers, without prejudice or fear.
We must recognize that we need to reshape the direction we are headed as a society. Think about it, because hate and ambivalence hurts us all. In the end, only love conquers all.
