La Plata Youth Services Partners recently partnered with the Senior Community Service Employment Program, an organization that allows low-income, financially-eligible seniors to enroll in temporary subsidized paid-training and find unsubsidized jobs in the community.
La Plata Youth Services is currently seeking one senior citizen, who has interest in clerical skills, to join the program and train for gainful employment opportunities. The participant will be paid to train through funding received from the United States Department of Labor SER Jobs For Progress organization.
To be accepted, applicants must be at least 55 years of age, unemployed and on limited income.
To apply for the program or for more information, call SER Jobs For Progress representative Judy Campbell at 385-3995.
