Bayfield’s Pine River Library will host a series of fly-fishing events from Oct. 4 to Oct. 6.
A fly-fishing book collection launch honoring the late Pat Oglesby will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 4 at the library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive, in Bayfield. There will be a reception with light snacks. Library director and author Shelley Walchak will talk about her book “52 Rivers” at 6 p.m. Oct. 5 at the library. Walchak tells the story of how she left her job to fly fish in a different river each week for a year. The beginning fly-fishing class will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 6 at the library. Local guides Glenn Tinnin and Carol Oglesby will lead the course for all skill levels. The library will supply rods for participants who do not have equipment. Advanced registration is required, and there is a fee of $35 for the course. For more information or register for the class, call the library at 884-2222, ext. 510.
