This scam ensures Durango’s liberal voting bloc decides the outcome of every commissioner election. So why in “blue” blazes would you be surprised the Republicans won’t bother putting forward candidates?
Ignoring the obvious voter suppression, Durango’s entitled liberals apparently feel qualified to make decisions for rural Bayfield, Hesperus, Red Mesa, etc. – despite not knowing any of their issues.
It’s way past time to jettison the Durango Democrats‘ entitlement and let the other two districts decide who represents them.
