And the West is History

100 years ago: “The Ford Car Agency reports six livery trips to Trimble Springs with passengers who have not yet become owners.”

75 years ago: “Two Durango improvement districts now planned will put a number of men to work. The projects call for installation of sidewalks and curbs where needed – one in North Durango and one in South Durango.”

50 years ago: “Snow continued to fall as spring storms dumped up to 4½ feet of new snow on southwestern Colorado. Seven inches of new snow in Durango brought the total from the two-day storm to 13 inches with 0.97 inch of moisture, the biggest snow of the year.”

25 years ago: “A district judge dismissed a lawsuit challenging La Plata County’s oil and gas regulations, saying the companies that filed the lawsuit haven’t proved they were harmed. The 12 plaintiffs, most of them companies involved in the oil and gas industry, ‘have not shown how the regulations affect them or that they will pursue and be denied a permit for oil and gas production,’ 6th District Judge Al Haas ruled.”
