I thank the sports editor for the recognition of of Christopher Blevins’ world championship win in the short track race at the UCI World Mountain Bike Championships in Val di Sole, Italy, last Thursday. I would like to recognize the rides of numerous other Durango riders.
In the team relay, four out of the six riders on the U.S. team call Durango home: Blevins, Ruth Holcomb, Riley Amos and Syvilia Blunk. Oh, and by the way, the relay team finished second.
All of them plus Ivan Sippy, Stephen Davoust, Lauren Aggeler and Bailey Cioppa had strong rides in their individual events. I apologize if I missed any of our fantastic Durango bikers.
Durango should be very proud.
