I was glad to see the Herald article about the 9-R school board candidates, as the website for the slate of challengers to Erika Brown, Andrea Parmenter and Richard Petersen has only platitudes and cherry-picked misinformation about the CMAS scores and school board policies.
Now that I know that Brown, Parmenter, and Petersen are the candidates who support making mask-wearing part of the dress code, protecting children and their families; who understand that critical race theory is not used in K-12 education and is not taught in 9-R schools; who know the school board does not dictate curriculum; who support educational equity and teaching about both the triumphs and the flaws of America – I will vote for them, and I hope you will, too.
