Mountain Middle School is one of the Colorado Charter School Institute’s highest performing schools, earning a “performance with distinction” accreditation rating confirmed by the CSI board of directors and the State board of education.
The academic portion of CSI’s “performance with distinction” rating is based on students’ performance on state tests that all Colorado public schools are required to administer each year in English language arts and math. In 2022 Mountain Middle School performed in the top 3% in ELA achievement and top 8% in math achievement out of all public schools in Colorado.
Mountain Middle School is a free public school in Durango serving grades 4-8 and has a lottery each year for enrollment. Families can enter their children’s names in the lottery on the school’s website starting their third grade year.
