Welcoming (reasonable) Hernando, Florida, visitors with open arms

One of the fine citizens of your lovely town was visiting Durango, Colorado, recently and found herself so offended and incensed by having to witness our citizens practicing their First Amendment rights that she publicly vowed to never visit Durango again, to never spend another dollar here, or to avail herself of our first class snow skiing and shopping opportunities. She was so outraged that she threatened to work to have our local Wyndham Resort closed.

We have many fine citizens and many recreational opportunities in Durango, including mountain biking, river rafting, camping, hiking, mountain climbing and riding a historic narrow gauge train to the mountain mining town of Silverton. Please let the more reasonable citizens of your lovely town know that they are all welcome to enjoy the beauty and hospitality of Durango, Colorado.

Editor’s note: In response to Barb Selvig’s letter to the editor, “Great job on No Kings March,” (Herald, Jun. 20), Rhys Schrock submitted this letter to Selvig’s hometown newspaper, the Hernando Sun. Rhys did not intend this for Herald publication, though we asked and he obliged.
