Poem to the editor: And a voice said, “Cry!”

Whereas one doesn’t really want

to be upsetting the little teacup

of a notoriously choleric president

on his latest transatlantic jaunt

by reminding him for instance

of such minutiae as his absolute lack

of any constitutional wherewithal

for his mega-tariff tack

whose actual prerogative, in fact,

from the beginning, purely congressional

(Article 1, Section 8)

particularly when he’s infamous

not just for shooting from the lip

but threatening to do so from the hip,

maybe we should merely let him proceed

to harass the rest of the world

instead of only his own general populace

and forget the dire and growing need

of every man, woman, and child

in Gaza until it’s entirely too late!
