Rotary contributes $11,500 to community health emergency needs

The Rotary Club of Durango is donating $11,500 to three community organizations providing emergency meals and food during the COVID-19 health emergency. The grants include:

$6,500 for the Manna soup kitchen.$2,500 for the Durango Food Bank.$2,500 for a collaborative food service program employing restaurant workers.Most of the funding came from the club’s 501c(3) nonprofit foundation.

Those who would like to contribute to the club’s foundation may contact foundation treasurer Graham Smith at 375-9439.

The Rotary Club of Durango regularly conducts a dinner meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesdays in the Strater Hotel, 699 Main Ave. During the stay-at-home order, the club is conducting virtual meetings. Visitors are welcome.
